Fees:- Garden design is carried out on a fixed rate basis; on the first site visit, an estimate is given which is then turned into a firm quotation for the work specified. Extra work is charged at £30 per hour. It is impossible to give exact costs for sites unseen, but the following guide may be of assistance:
Small, domestic gardens less than quarter of an acre:
Full design including survey .... £150 to £300
Basic design ....£75 -£150
plus expenses
Medium-sized domestic sites quarter to three quarters of an acre:
Full design including survey ... £300 to £450
Basic design .....£150 - £200
plus expenses
Large garden up to 2 acres: rates on application
Expenses: Travel is charged on cheapest public transport rates if we can reach you by public transport, or 30p per mile by car. Expenses (printing etc) are charged at cost. Costs will be lower if the client can supply a professional scale drawing of the site.
SUSTAINABILITY: Because there is no such thing as an instant garden, and because a garden once constructed will continue to grow, change and develop, people are sometimes disappointed when the design is overtaken by events. That's why I include a straightforward, easy to follow, management plan with every full design, so that clients can help their garden mature sustainably in the way they desire. Information on pruning, thinning and changing sizes are given.
Consultancy:-
We can supply management and maintenance plans for new and existing gardens as described above, whether or not we have designed the garden.
