Unusual Herbs and Useful Plants grown Organically in a Cold Climate

If you are reading this page, it is probably because you would like to order plants but prefer not to pay on-line! First, then go to the page "Catalogue A-Z" and jot down your selection. It may be worth checking in the on-line store as well to see that we haven't sold out (you don't have to log in to do this). Then send your order, with cheque enclosed (or email us and send cheque), as described below. Note: there is also a "pay by cheque" option in the online store you can use.

TERMS OF MAIL ORDER AND DESPATCH

As we don't force our plants, most will be available and suitable for posting from the middle to end of March unless otherwise stated. Some subjects are notoriously slow in cold springs, so if we envisage any delay in despatching your order we will contact you by phone or e-mail. If you wish to order large quantities of any single item, please enquire about stock levels - we are happy to grow to order if given some notice.

If an item is out Welsh Onionsof stock we will offer a similar substitute, defer delivery until new stock is ready, or offer a refund. Once your order and cheque/postal order is received, the plants will be despatched asap by first class post (avoids surcharges for people living in Highlands and Islands), root-wrapped for protection and to avoid packaging waste.

Prices in the catalogue INCLUDE postage and packing within the United Kingdom. For destinations within the EU but outside UK, there will be a small additional cost - we charge you whatever the post office charges us, and will advise you in advance.

OUR MINIMUM ORDER VALUE IS £12. This is because smaller orders become uneconomical due partly to the voracity of the bank in charging for every cheque deposited, and the changes in postal costs, which mean little packets cost ridiculously more than they used. However if you desperately need to place a small order, just add £1 p&p per plant and we will happily oblige.

Remember, if you don't want to purchase through our on-line shop (and you don't have to!) please send payment with order to:

Plants With Purpose, Middlebank Cottage, Smiths Brae, Bankfoot, Perthshire PH1 4AH,Scotland

e-mail: mail@plantswithpurpose.co.uk

Telephone: 01738 787278 or mobile 0787 1451579

MAIL ORDERS RECEIVED AFTER 31st OCTOBER WILL NOT NORMALLY BE SENT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING SPRING TO GUARANTEE QUALITY AND OPTIMUM CONDITIONS FOR PLANTING. EXCEPTIONS MAY INCLUDE INDOOR SUBJECTS.

LOCAL AND VISITING CUSTOMERS

We warmly welcome visitors who wish to collect their orders or call in while in the area. We are restricted for parking and access is a bit tricky (DON'T bring a bus up Smiths Brae!), so we are not a "garden centre". If you are coming a long way or after a specific plant, do phone first - some lines are kept in small number and sell out regularly, and if you don't telephone first you may find no-one here but the geese, the bees, the cat, and various puzzled neighbours! The great thing about calling is you don't have to pay postage - and you get to choose from a wider range!

MEDICINAL HERBS - IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ!

While many of the plants we supply have well-documented medicinal properties and in some cases are the forerunners of modern synthetic drugs, we can take no responsibility for their actions if used medicinally. All medicines, whether herbal or synthetic, should be approached with caution. Some herbs contain toxins which, while beneficial to some, may be dangerous in others. Those wishing to use herbs medicinally should consult first with a medical practitioner or qualified herbalist.
